Helping create a healthy start
Our AnthroHealth approach with children and young people focuses on maintaining health and building resilience.
We aim to encourage good health within a nurturing environment so that children and young people can call on their own resources to overcome illness. The AnthroHealth approach supports children and young people’s own self-healing abilities – using medication only when necessary and appropriate. This can benefit children and young people through minimising unnecessary use of:
Modern research indicates that antibiotics are generally over-used and may compromise future resilience.
Recent evidence suggests that suppressing fever in children acts to deregulate the immune system. Manageable fevers can act to help develop the immature immune system.

Long term steroid use is known to have a number of undesirable side-effects.

Our team look on each child and young person as a unique individual. Through the developmental stages we work with the child / young person to establish:
- physical health
- mental and emotional wellbeing
- appropriate social skills
We value parents / care givers and other family members as active partners in this process.
The AnthroHealth approach can be helpful from birth through adolescence, supporting healthy development and offering additional help in acute conditions.
Resilience is the ability to bounce back from negative impacts and establish physical, emotional, mental and social wellbeing. Childhood resilience is a key factor in building a positive outlook in adult life.
Babies & Children
During early childhood, various developmental and other health challenges are encountered e.g. teething, coughs, colds, infectious illnesses. These can be distressing for both child and parent alike. However, taking a holistic view, these can be seen as necessary in developing a healthy immune system.
Our AnthroHealth approach offers help with appropriate advice on home treatment for parents and care givers along with anthromedicines and other therapeutic interventions where appropriate. Common areas which respond well to the AnthroHealth approach include:
- Infections, coughs, colds
- Teething
- Sleeping difficulties
- Skin problems e.g. eczema
- Allergies
- Bed wetting
- Social and behavioural issues
- Developmental upsets
Young People
The years around puberty can be especially challenging for young people and for parents too. Our AnthroHealth team aims to create a secure environment in which our young patients can voice their concerns. We encourage young patients to be involved in decisions about their health to support personal growth and development. In this way, they learn to take appropriate responsibility for their ongoing wellbeing. The AnthroHealth approach considers physical, emotional, mental changes as well as the social environment which impact on young people during adolescence.
Conditions which respond particularly well to our AnthroHealth approach include:
- Anxiety / stress
- School problems
- Eating difficulties
- Skin problems e.g. acne
- Hormonal disturbances e.g. menstrual problems
- Sleep difficulties
