An integrated and creative approach to learning disabilities
Our team has over 20 years of experience working with children, young people and adults who have learning disabilities and additional support needs, including:
- autism
- ADHD
- development issues
- emotional and behavioural problems
We work closely with the Aberdeen City & Shire Camphill Communities helping to create nurturing environments in which over 250 children, young people and adults can fulfil their potential.
Our approach is person-centred and widens the conventional approach (psychiatry, psychology, OT, SALT, physiotherapy) using:
in-depth patient questionnaire
To give us a more complete picture of the patient. This is filled out before the first appointment.
an extended diagnostic perspective
An extended diagnostic perspective considering biographical and individual aspects of the person with learning disability
a range of additional therapeutic options
- Anthromedicines
- External applications
- Therapies
- Lifestyle advice
We turned up for Jack’s interview with Dr Stefan with Jack wearing his grandma’s high-heeled shoes! Jack spent his time switching lights on and off and opening and closing doors. At last there was a light at the end of what had been for us a very long and dark tunnel.
Our therapeutic programmes aim to keep the focus where it should be – on the individual and their potential to develop health and wellbeing.
